It’s a feast of opportunities!

Jamie's Story

One of the things I enjoy most about working for my company is the opportunity for advancement. The supervisors I have encountered along my career path have invested their time into my career development, giving me the opportunity to advance my career as quickly as I’ve wanted. I started as a Part-time Deli Clerk in 2008 and within a year I had advanced through the ranks to become Meat Manager. I am thankful for each of the supervisors and Associates who helped me in my career because I now have a great success story to tell.

The most important part of my job as Meat Department Manager is leading by example. I would never ask my Associates to do anything I wouldn’t do. I also try to support my company’s goals and Promises in every aspect of my work.

My favorite parts of the job are executing our merchandising plans and working hard to drive sales. I also enjoy the customer service part of this role: I’m always looking for new ways to satisfy our customers’ needs and keep them coming back.

My advice to someone looking to advance is to take advantage of all the support tools the company offers, such as the Rising Stars, which helped me significantly. I also recommend taking calculated risks with your career. Be confident, because you never know what could be waiting for you.
